All i see are threads about a new BIOS, but nothing but problems, is there going to be a fix, or a new BIOS for the G1S soon?

I upgraded to the 203 Bios and it works fine.

The only problem is the performance/battery issue that is left over from 202.

Not a big deal, they just did not fix it.

Ya but whats this performance and battey issue? It sounds like it doesnt perform as good as it should, and the battery is shortened? This concerns me, i would like my battery to go as long as it can, and the performance to be good for the price of the laptop.

The problem is that if your battery drops below 90% the processor will not operate at 100% (it goes from anywhere between 50%-75%).

But the old BIOS had this too.

So you might as well upgrade.

wow, they should be working on this then, the asus g1s has been out for awhile now. the processor only running at 50% is terrible, if i known about this i would of never got the asus g1s.

It is only when the battery is below 90% and the power adapter is plugged in and charging. Btw, bios update 203 isn't posted on the asus website. Is it an official update?

Update 203 should be posted... that is where I downloaded it from (member.asus.com). Also, it isn't actually only at below 90%. After I did some extensive testing, the G1S will always perform better on battery then when plugged in, even when at 100%. It is just that the performance decrease is much less when it is charged above 90%. You can see this thread for all the test results:

I do not agree with him because I did the math and compare with another laptop. if you saw my posts the ac adapter is enough. If that was the case them my fathers laptop would really have a seriouly underpower adapter

    you are both wrong
Adolfo no offense but the power adapter is on the verge of being not enought to barely enough. that would explain why an identical g2s has a 120watt adapter
    osso
that is not what i said. I said that asus coded the bios on purpose that way to compensate for the weak ac adapter
    adolfo
the ac is barely enough. between the lights on the side, the light up eye, the secondary display, the very demanding vga card the adapter is in a grey area. If all of those are on and you are pushing the laptop and charging the battery there is potential for the ac to overheat and turn off. I experienced the same on a g2s which does not have this issue becuase it comes with a standard 120w instead of 90w.
