After one of the Asus netbooks, just something cheap and cheerful. But noticed a lot of them seem to have the battery sealed inside. For cost purposes I assume.

Anyway, I was always under the impression that you should remove the battery if leaving a laptop connected to the mains.

I'll have it sat running 24/7 and wondered if that was going to kill the battery very quickly? Thanks

My Asus unit with sealed battery has been used for 18 months as a daily work machine, always plugged in. It is now at 11% wear, so I'd say you have little to worry about.

Its quite the opposite, you want to leave it in as much as possible. There is no reason to remove it, you dont have to worry about it overcharging.

Just try and keep the machine at a stable temperature, don't leave it in boot of your car over night if it's cold outside for example as it's the temperature change that will impact battery life more over time.
