Well, this was my first day at college and i really need the notebook but i want to wait for merom!!! If i buy Yonah (i know its not that much difference) i will feel like i would have wait for 64bits, because of all my design programs :p .
So, I wonder if any of you have any news or aprox launch date for W3J+ with merom.
    Thanks a lot.

I'd say December at the earliest, the W3 was just recently 'refreshed' into a Core Duo in June(Was also the last ENSEMBLE to be refreshed), so I'm assuming it will do the same when the W3(?) /w Merom comes out.

chances are 64bit programs won't really be mainstream until the end of your college so i wouldn't be worried about that too much..on the other hand..if you can wait then wait

Trust me, your Core Duo would be fine. If you really want to you could upgrade later, but remember it voids your warranty. This is what I'm doing.

Santa Rosa is due in April 2007, which is probably wont be available for a while.
I am going to wait until Christmas to buy my W3J.

Your news is from February. I was told by an Intel employee late January-early February and that was about three weeks ago. I'm not trying to be mean or start a debate here, I'm just sharing my information. :)

Well I know Santa Rosa was trying to get ahead of the Vista final release so it may be sooner than you think.
