    Hi,

Been a while since I last purchased a laptop (W5A), and just wondering if there are any new upcoming laptops in that mould?

    Thanks.

I know of the Asus U80 and the U20 coming out sometime this Summer. The U80 is a 14" notebook, and the U20 and 12" subnotebook. I don't know if there are any plans for a 13" one though...

They look quite nice, Asus is going the way of the chiclet keyboard on most of its models now from the looks of it.

the ux30 is 13.3 inch i believe, following the styling aspects of the u-series

    http://www.itechnews.net/tag/asus-ux30/

"On the other hand, two models are introduced for the slimmer UX series, the 15.5-inch UX50V and 13.3-inch UX30."

i'm not familiar with the u6/w7, so i can't say if the specs are what you would call their "replacement". you can look up the official specs on the asus website i think

The F6Ve model that I just got is also a replacement for the W7 in the sense that it is a 13.3" with a powerful CPU and GPU. (although I believe the W7 GPUs were less powerful relative to their times, than the F6Ve GPU is now)

The styling is a bit different though, and the F is nominally a budget series. There are no outstanding build quality issues on the F6, but the fact that it's a budget notebook does show in certain ways (see my review for details).
