Any upcoming W3V updates? (CPU, HDD, ATI. etc.)?

Anyone know if ASUS will be updating the W3V anytime soon?

From what I've read, the U.S specs have not changed for awhile now and it seems the notebook is getting somewhat out-of-date. Not really, but the HDD or RAM should be much higher for the price you pay.

Anything on the horizon for say.. a 2.0+ PM, possibly 80gig+ HDD, x600 128MB dedicated (possibly), 1gig of RAM? (not necessarily all of those, maybe a few upgrades if possible).

Justin or anyone know if any changes will take in effect soon?

    Thanks.

dude, no offense.... but you've started so many W3v threads and they don't get very far.... in the future start a thread and then rename it if needed, but keep it all together as long as it's basically on the same subject.

I don't think you're going to see anything till February in terms of a change to the W3 series...... maybe, just MAYBE more ram after the holidays to keep the price up, but that's just off the top of my head as I look at things they've done in the past..... this could be an update they do to current stock that's already made it to the US..... but that's certainly not promised.

None taken.. just trying to get the most information out of the W3V as possible without having to regret my purchase.

But you did have an answer for me and it was totally different from my other posts and looking back, 3 out of the 5 W3V threads I have posted have well over 200 views (considering there are no more than 25 viewers in the ASUS forum at any given time), so I don't see a problem with it. :)

BTW.. Thanks for the response, next time I'll just bother you by way of PM, lol.

    See how my threads help?

Actually no, it does not. It has 64MB dedicated, but can go beyond 128MB depending on how much RAM you have installed and your current BIOS version.

64mb dedicated are all that anyone who knows anything should really care about..... I've gotten my hypermemory to go up to 512mb plus the 64mb dedicated..... 596mb total......... it only helps me in two programs and it'll show up that was in the system settings....... but to sell the system as having that much video ram would be a complete lie..... most sell it as x600 w/ 128mb of hyper memory and that's quite deceptive.

Yeah - email is best for me... it's quick and I get it anyway... PM's stink and take too long to.

I did a whole demo on the w3 and at the bottom of the page you'll see the screen shots..... nothing fancy involved... just match up your bios and drivers with the amount of RAM installed in the system.
