Im really annoyed when im playing a game or just doing anything and i want to turn volume or the backlight up or down. It seems to give me a performance hit the instant i push the key.

Is there any way to disable the animation that pops up, as i think thats whats causing it.

Not sure, but if I remember correctly, if you only install ATK OSD (the plain 2D OSD) instead of OSD2 (the 3D one), it will show up under Windows but not while playing games. This, of course, only if you are willing to switch back to the plain 2D one. Other than that, I don't know any other way...

You can turn off that obtrusive 3Dish one by going to add / remove programs and pulling out atkosd2. You can also kill the atkosd process via task manager with no percievable side effects other than no longer having the popup.

However, getting rid of that latter one permanently seems a bit less simple, although it is definitely not as obtrusive. I can't remember if I have or not (will reboot to Windows and let you know). Try msconfig's startup processes.
