Are there any stores (other than best buy) that still have the G50VT-X5 brand new in stock?

As I understand it, Asus makes certain models exclusively for Bestbuy. The first G50 they carried was the X1. Though you could buy an X1 elsewhere, Bestbuy's version was different from the one all the other dealers sold. Similarly, I don't think you'll find the X5 sold new anywhere else.
If you check out the Asus driver downloads, you will notice a category for G50VT's bought at Bestbuy.

There are comparable notebooks from other retailers though. Newegg, for example, has the X6 and X8.

The X8 is almost identical to the X5. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220557

The X6 has a nicer cpu and screen. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220483

The G51 or 71 at BB is a better deal than any of the aforementioned IMO however.

The new X8 is a good deal same price as the X5 used to be and only 100 more than the X5 was last month. It comes with the better cpu which is a 220 dollar upgrade by itself. I believe it comes with bluetooth. The 6 cell is a downgrade but the bluetooth and 2 year asus warranty with 1 year accidental are upgrades as well. The paint is also killer.

Hmm yeah I saw the X8 on newegg but the lack of reviews made me a bit cautious. I bought an hp dv6000 when it came out and didn't wait for the reviews and ended up with an overpriced brick due to the heating problem. The warranty on the site says 1 year accident prevention but doesn't that mean that I'm technically buying this laptop w/o warranty?
