Anyone can provide full details to open up the W7J case to access the mini-pcie network card?

I'm willing to provide some incentive if someone can provide full pictures of how this can be achieved.

GS, I know I originally offered when my system was still apart getting painted, and then had to rescind when I was called away for businesss and found it together when I got back.. I apolize for that. However, I don't think you're going to find anyone willing to do it. It was one of the more difficult models I've opened up in terms of physically tearing it all down (I think the S6 may have been tighter), but even if I documented every screw, that's only half the battle and frankly really difficult to photograph.

GS, here's the thing... I could probably take it apart in my sleep... that isn't supposed to impress you.... but the thing is, the first time you take anything like this apart, most people tend to over baby everything.. Meaning, to get the palmrest off the bottom case, it's going to take probably a screw driver at first and then very careful - yet firm (very firm) twists and turns. I can take these apart with my fingers, but I know the pressures needed. The biggest deterent is that these aren't MEANT to come apart (the chassis itself snaps together easy), but most people are worried about breaking parts. I know that's legitimate, but if you want to get into this, instructions aren't going to help that part. I've helped some forum members do this even over the phone and I tell them push harder - and I always get "I'm pushing harder".. or whatever it is. The thing is, they're not... they're mind or body or something is stopping them from going that extra little distance to get it done. If you think you can overcome it (remember, basically all parts can be replaced), if I tell you that you need to go about 5 steps above the point YOU think is too much.... then you'll be able to get it done.

Taking appart a laptop is kind of like taking appart an engine. Once you have done a few you have done them all. If you have not done a few then you should not practice on one that is worth any kind of money.

I've taken apart a iBook and a Dell 8200. It's just that I can't see any tabs or anywhere to start for the W7j.

They're all on the side... you're not going to see them. Once you pop one, you'll understand how the rest are connected. Remove all the screws and then take out the optical drive.... start around the hold where the dvd drive fits.... it'll have the most movement because you created that void there. Basically, if you can picture this, the bottom panels clip to the back of the top panels. So, in other words, if you push in on the bottom and try to curl the top up, it should be enough to pop one... after that, just try to slide your finger around the whole thing. Remember, it's not meant to be taken apart.. it's actually meant to stay together and solid at long as possible, so it's fit as well as it could be. It takes a lot to get it going, but once you get going, you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot when I get some time. Should I take out all screws, including HD?

Take out any screws there... take out your hard drive and make sure there aren't any screws under it..... etc. Basically though, you just want to take out the screws that go through the system to hold down the top... so the tiny screws that just hold covers and things, don't really matter.
