Just ordered 2 Gigs of Kingston 533, and need to know if anyone user of this forums has replaced the original so-dimm (primary) as described in http://www.synnex.com/sb/sb_byon.html (Z63A) with no problem... and if anyproblem, what are the very-very-veryimportant steps to do it with no damage for the computer...
Thanks in advance.

No, just keep your hands on the motherboard. It's straight forward.

which one is actually the primary slot? the one at the bottom or under the keyboard?
according to the guide, it's the one under the keyboard. but when i installed my 1x1 gb ram there, my notebook couldn't start. it works only after i moved the ram to the bottom slot. -

The primary is under the keyboard..... but it doesn't matter what slot you put your ram in, they're both equal as far as the system is concerned.

(Thanks Justin, your help is appreciated) -
Well, buying Kingston 533-1G so-dimms has beed easier as expected. Talked with Kingston service in Europe and said me this week they gonna receive an 533-1G stock to distribute in Spain. Contacted with internet reseller last thursday, ordered/payed friday, and tuesday morning arrived the 2 sticks...
Now... the "not-to-easy" part... assembling. Used to open/plug/unplug -assemble whatever- in desktop computer, but this is my first intervention in notebook.
I'll try first inserting the secundary, and if my heart rhythm allows it, i'll replace primary...
Hope Justin is near here...
(oops here is Spain, probably you ppl in the states&canada would be sleeping, or notebook-hardgaming now...) -
wowowoooo
secundary installed and running...
now... more difficult yet... primary... -
Well... it's done.
The more difficult step was to disconnect and reconnect the "FPC" thingy whatever it was (a plastic band that connects keyboard and mainboard)...
Now, time to test super_pi in comparison with stock and... BF2 of course. -

Yeah, well you shouldn't have even had to remove it... just move the keyboard out of the way....... that would have been easiest.

the guide said it... I followed instructions evry comma... even when it said "now stop to take breath and focus... use the force, Luke"

I'm just telling you, if you looked at it logically.. you didn't HAVE to do it... but it's done, so it's no big deal.

yes, youre right, would be a good recommendation to next one user of this forums doing the upgrade.
Anyone changed primary ram module in w3v?
