Asus live update recently decided to update my BIOS from 300 to 309 without asking me. I have been having trouble with 309 since the thermal control has been aggresively reworked whereas the fans will start spinning at 2500rpm when the temperature hits 35 degrees. Needless to say the fans are always spinning. The only way to fix this issue at the moment is to roll back at 300 but it is not available online anymore and asus has refused to provide me with a copy.

If anyone still has a copy of BIOS version 300 I would be indebted! Thank you

I think the newer bios is actually suppose to fix security vulnerabilities in Intel's cpus...specifically spectre and meltdown. So you probably don't want to go back to the older version even if you could. I have the GL702 and asus definitely made the fans a bit more aggressive at load. Let this be a lesson though always backup your motherboard bios, and download all bios versions from the manufacturer web site before they delete them.
