    Anyone know how to lower/mute mic input

    I have a z81 and have tried lower the mic input volume and boost but i still get feed back and some harddrive clicks.

    Any suggestions???

    If you did some sound editing, you could likely get the clicks out no problem (assuming they are evenly spaced), otherwise, I would say increase the volume of what you are recording.

    I'm sorry, the question I was asking was how do i turn the mic off or lower the volume when I'm not using it so that I don't get feedback when i'm doing things like playing games really loud.

    Try turning it down under the sounds and audio devices in the control panel.

    If you can't find it in the control panel, an easier way is thru the Volume icon in your task bar. If "Mic Volume" is there, check the mute button. If not, click on Options -> Properties and check "Mic Volume" under "Show the following volume controls".

    If you don't have the Volume icon, you gotta go thru the control panel.

    thanks alot guys, duepeace hit the nail on the head. For some reason their isn't a mute option in the control panel and that really threw me off.
