I have a ddr3 8600m gt and tried the new drivers from asus and got a huge increase in 3dmark06 and my games. They got me a 5130 score.

How much did it increase by exactly?
-
depends... before this the drivers werent consistant once i got over 5000 with my old ones but then it was 4900 over and voer again... With this one its always over 5100+ the score never goes down.

I'm running them, I noticed a huge increase. Look for my GDDR3 thread...are you running a C90S klok99ah? How in the world did you mange to get over 550 core without getting those wierd line artifacts? By chance, what BIOS, CPU and Power Brick are you running?

Im running c90s:
2.66 ghz
3 gb ram
256 8600m gt ddr3
Bios is version 502 beta -
May I ask where you downloaded the 167.58 drivers? A link would be helpful, as I've searched laptopvideo2go.com and can't seem to find this particular driver. Thanks ahead of time. One last thing, is it made specifically for the ddr3 version or both ddr2 and ddr3 versions?
-
They actually work with the GDDR3 card and don't hurt performance. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16927
Hey klok99ah, is there any way I can convince you to pull the BIOS off your 8600m GT and email it to me or attach it in a PM? I threw the 502B BIOS on there and I still can't break 550 Core. This happend at the same number with my DDR2 card. I have noticed a difference though that anyone with a e6700 such as yourself, and swoly2k, that you guys can easily clock your cards past 550. -
I don't get it, the 167.58 drivers came out on 1/02 while the 167.55 drivers came out on 1/18. What's that all about?
-
Different re-release dates I guess you could call it. I haven't tried 167.55...I got stuff to do like sleep and fix a few things and I'll give them at test.

Were those OC-able via software or is that a bios flash we're seeing?
-
Not sure about .55, I know .58 doesn't OC via driver.

Hey guys,
I just got of work. Im running Bios 502 and I did a bios overclock to reach those results. I will email you my bios info. I did however increase voltage on the video card. But i suspect that the video card shares the same voltage as the processor. Let me figure a couple of things out and then ill send you the bios. Im going to see if I can wop up the voltage on the processor and see if i can push the core to 700. -
anyone have any clue how to increase the voltage of the proccesor
-
Well, yeah, you can use for instance RMClock, or any undervolting software. As its name says, this software is usually for undervolting rather than over-volting (is there such a word?) but you will be able to do it...

I tested the drivers and 167.55 has weird results, the 167.49 is still the best for me:
GPU: GeForce 8400M G
3DMark06 Scores
167.49 - 1137 (reference)
167.58 - 1130 (0.62% decrease)
167.55 - 869 (23.57% decrease)
I re-ran the test with the 167.55 driver and got the same score. Don't know why it's that low though, maybe it just doesn't like the 8400. -
I just did some tweaking add more shader clocks and hit 5500 in 3dmark06

I wish I had a e6700...I think it's a problem with e6600 and core not being able to go over 550 with those wierd ass lines. It's honestly not artifacts...i'm so making a video of what i'm talking about. Whats odd as well, performance in game isn't hurt when its freaking out either.
-
yeah those weird lines... i have no clue what it is because i know for a fact my core can go to 750 without problems except those lines and they are not hurting preformance... weird... i put on 648 core and bam! it sucks... it has to do with the way the voltage is being distributed i think...
Anyone tried 167.58 drivers from asus?
