Yeah, I know, it's only a 220m GPU, but I was wondering how well it really does.
I am still shopping for a laptop for my wife (see my other posts) - I thought I had the perfect one for her but I lost it on auction, so right now it's between the G51vx-X3A and the N61Vg-A1.
the biggest differences I can see in terms of hardware is...
GPU (260m X3a, 220m A1)
Screen (1920x1080 X3a, 1366x768 A1)
A1 has same size, speed HD.
Both have the same warranty, dead pixel, yadda yadda yadda. The only other big difference is backlit keys on the X3A.
A1 is lighter then the X3a (by a lb)
There's a $350ish difference between the two. That's a big difference when it comes to Christmas shopping, but is the difference enough for someone who plays WoW, COD4 (on occasion), Sacred 2, D3 (when it comes out), SC2 (when it comes out), etc.? I obviously want to do the right thing by my wife, the difference is whether I also get her the 28" screen that I know she'd love for her desktop or not...

I'm not sure how much it helps you considering its an entirely different machine, but here are some gaming benchmarks on the UL80VT-A1 which has teh 210m in it. I am in a similar boat as you and wasn't too sure how gaming would be, but it seems like they running perfectly fine on the 210m. (Which i'm guessing is a lower card than the 220?)

Anyone used the N61vg-a1 for gaming?
