the g51jx-x1 is an awesome laptop and I love it, but the speakers on these things are even lower and worse then my 2004 Toshiba laptop. I remember reading a post on here about how I can up the volume somehow by using the sound drivers or something. Can anyone tell me how?

Control Panel>Sound. Select your speakers and then Properties>Enhancements. You can enable Loudness Equalization and Ok. Then experiment with the environment settings there in Sound Properties.
