That question, ocurred to me because of the questions left unfinished by the post I've seen in this section... Some people inquiered, but not that much answered....

So the questions to end all questions: Is there any problems with gaming in the A8Js screen at native resolution? Could working with CAD in it be an issue? Is there a great loss in playing at a lower resolution? Do the games become ridiculosly tiny??????????????

    PS: I repeated "questions" alot!!!

I will speculate that there are no problems gaming at native resolution. I will also point out that all your questions will recieve subjective answers.

Some ppl think 1440*990 is too small, some ppl want it even more pixelated on a 14.1"

I've played through the FEAR and Prey demo's to try out some newer games, ran beautifully. Resolution was not an issue in either game, and everything ran very fast!

Everything should run relatively well at native resolutions. The are less pixels on that screen then on a 1280x1024 screen, and those have been around on the desktop for a while now.

Um all I can say is cross shop the hgl 30 I suppose.

I mean I went for it I thought it was the best thing for me. Im a gamer.

I have an external display though with lower ms response time and sxga that i could hook up if its native screen isnt high enough so Im less paranoid about it.

When I get up enough im going to have one of these widescreen 20 inch lcds that are all on sale right now.

so its native screen is for web browsing to me

There shouldn't be any issues running current games on the A8Js' WXGA+ screen at medium-high settings. If you need more eye candy, then it's entirely acceptable to run games at lower resolutions (either 1280x800 or 1024x768); while this isn't such a good idea for desktop work, it doesn't impinge on gaming as much.

If you're planning on doing CAD, you'll definitely want that larger screen. ;)

I wont be able to answer that for weeks and months really, whether it really covers what i need it to do.

Unlike most of the buyers my main machine I was thinking of buying was a dell e1705 because all things considered i needed a 7900 gs

When I read about this a8js I wanted to believe it was finally a 7600 gt level gpu in a real notebook size and I put the blinders on and got it even though it turned out not to be.
Its the best compromise on the market. But watch out ofr th g1p to be even closer whenever it comes out.
Until then the a8js is the top of the line gaming actual notebook size notebook.

An e1705 is a lunch tray.
