SEAGATE Intern harddisk Momentus SpinPoint M8 (ST1000LM024) - 1 Tb
    1 terrabyte-SATA II-5400rpm-read speed300mb/s-write speed150mb/s-8mb Cache

Now that the prices have gone down for the hard drives, i intend to upgrade the memory to a larger capacity,

these are standard 2.5" drives, so yes.

that 1TB is going to be slow.

You might find drives with small differences in the measurements (in millimeters), but as long as it's marketed as a 2.5" laptop drive, it will fit a corresponding 2.5" bay. You just need to know whether you have an IDE or sATA connection.

Yours appears to use sATA, so those drives should work fine.

Hello Kefan777, Thank you for the prompt reply.
Any idea how slow would the 1TB one be in comparison to the 750GB Momentus XT ? Would be great if you could site an example say of copying ,reading a large file assuming that this 1TB drive would be the boot drive.

I ask this because the price of the 750GB is ~50% more than the 1TB one. If it would be a small difference, I could have the 1TB as a secondary drive and use the price difference to invest in a faster, smaller SSD as the boot disk.

Hei ProStar, appreciate your comment too.
If you could add your comments on the speed of reading/writing of the drives, shall be highly appreciated.

    Thank you folks.

    Hey again, Srinivas.
What you mentioned about having a SSD as the primary drive with the 1 TB as a secondary is widely considered ideal for performance. If you can go that route, I would second the decision (if performance is really an issue).

I can certainly post benchmarks, but just bear in mind that these are purely for knowledge sake and don't necessarily always translate as noteworthy to definitive real-world application. Slightly better benchmarks may seem appealing, but you may never notice the difference when, say, opening a web page.

Thank you Prostar. I shall take the route of SSD for boot drive and 1TB drive for Secondary storage. :)
Are you aware of any hurdles in US online sites shipping to Norway ?
Cause I need the delivery in Norway. I am sure that the price advantage would be much more, provided Customs of Norway does not meddle in.

Also I would like to buy the second drive caddy for Asus V1s, can you suggest some place where I can get that too, again shipping all the way to Norway.

No hurdles that I am aware of, but I'm unsure of the freight cost to Norway, let alone the down time of transit. For the caddy, Newegg, Amazon, Rakuten, and eBay have good selections and pricing. I'm not as keen on their international orders, so you'll need to review their shipping policy. :)
