After 60min plus of gaming, the cpu in my A8jp goes over 80.

The air coming out the side is ofcourse very hot, and the corner of the nb where the vent is gets hot too.

If the c2d in my desktop got that hot, Id be scared.

Are those temps ok? Is that out of the norm?

Idle temps are 47 for the cpu and 30 for HD. I think HD goes over 50 when gaming. But Im not sure and I dont think it gets real hot.

Also, the power brick gets pretty hot too at the some time. When gaming on the battery, it also gets hot.

Ive never had a laptop before until now, so I just dont know what is normal.

    Idle temps ok.

Gaming temps... probably ok, given the powerful components in the small chassis... On my notebook the only instance in which I got to 80 degrees was with the Intel Thermal Analysis tool -- and even then without undervolting.

You might consider getting a notebook cooler.

A temp of 80 degrees C is on the high side, but still within standard, I think. Shutdown occurs at 95 so you have some breathing room. Your idle temps look good though, which is why your peak is so puzzling. For your reference I peak at around 65 degrees while gaming, but 45-47 idle, in a 23 degree C room. Not sure how/why there is a difference there under load. What is the ambient temperature in your room, as this may affect your temps.

I think if I were in your situation I would get a NB cooler for peace of mind while gaming. On the road you won't need one because you would be gaming at max performance for about 30 min before your battery shut down ;)

Also the vent, area around the vent and the power brick getting hot are all normal.

temps here also reach 80C (with zalman notebook cooler)... I'm a little scared cause yesterday whem I was playing, the notebook just blacked out... not even the frontal lights (plug in, bat, bluetooth and wireless) were on. After a while (about 5min) I tried to turn on and the note back to life.

Anyone suggests a change in the internal cooler? If so, any specific brand? Cause "remote temp" is reaching 100C!!
