As I look through this forum, I see no interest in the ASUS U3

    Why?

To me, the notebook seems to be a very capable performer. Even though the GPS might be next to useless for me, it would be perfect for someone with mobility and ones that do not watch a lot of DVDs.

You can attach an external, fast burning, DVD drive if you want. The flexibility is there.

A 13.3" ultraportable notebook that has integrated GPS, dedicated graphics that can be turned on or off via a switch, HDMI port, eSata port, piano black outer finish and a leather finish on the palm rests and LED backlit... What more can you want ;) (expensive though but justified)

Right now the forum's focus seems to be amongst the college set and the custom gamers -- not a lot of folks with the cash to bump up into the V/U series purchases. Only models that seem to get any time around here these days are the G1 series, C90, and F8.

The U3 is one sweet little machine, it will be interesting to see whether it takes off a bit as release nears..... definitely going to make some people happy, if any are around here, and if it can avoid the battery plague of the V6/2/1 series all the better.

I'm interested, but the lack of information besides Andrew's sneak peak is all there needs to be....for now.

I've been looking to replace my notebook with a smaller 12-13 one, the U3 perked my interest but not my wallet.
