 Any ideas? Has happened ever since I used RM clock a few days ago to find lowest stable voltages. Have since put everything back to defaults and uninstalled but this is still happening. CPUz dectects that my voltages are indeed at default and speedstep is functioning normally.
I just don't want to have to always brighten the screen when I boot up!

Have since changed from 179.28 to 185,20 dox and back again and still no change! Apart from the function key to change brightness I can't find a software brightness control in control panel or in the bios

Meddle with the power management software. If you have Power 4 Gear, tinker with the settings and maybe reinstall.

I have never used power 4 gear. Does it control brightness settings?

if its dim during POST as well, try "set user defaults" (has to be somewhere in the bios).

I doesn't dim during post. Only once the loading windows part has finished and it gets to the swipe finger log in does it dim.
