I've got my eye on this little fellow since the Ubuntu edition is well within impulse buy territory for me ($230). I was thinking slap in a SSD and a Debian XFCE setup (my preference over *buntu) and might I might end up with quite a decent little performer. Couple questions that I couldn't find answers to in reviews if anyone has it.

RAM - upgradeable here or is it soldered on? Hoping so since the drive can be swapped out

Any issues with heat/noise? I use a Samsung 3 Chromebook right now and it has spoiled me on that end, I don't think I could abide heat or noise.

With a low-power notebook like that you probably won't have much heat or noise. most of that is from the GPU and more powerful CPUs and the fans that cool them, and this computer looks to be free of most of those issues. Stock it has no GPU and I think it's a relatively tame Celeron processor? I'll try to find out about that RAM for you, from what I gather it does rely on some soldered-on memory but I'm not sure if it has an upgrade slot.
