The 1201N looks interesting...
-
It sure does.
Can't wait until October 22 to see the full details! -
Hopefully its under $500 at those specs. Would be a killer set up
-
might as well get an Asus UL30 for 700$.
400-450 would be the perfect price point. -
-
How do you guys think the Atom N330 stacks with Nvidia stacks up against a SU3500 core solo (Acer AS1410)?
-
But the core solo should be faster in everything else . Well i guess dual threaded programs they could be close toe ven. -

You guys know that the N330 is two N230's stuck together, its not a "true" dual core.

I've been running a programing stack on the AS1410. It builds and runs my projects fine. The two things I would like is longer battery life and better full screen video.
I'm between a) keeping the AS1410 (works for me other than full screen video) b) getting something like the AS1810 or UL20a with the SU4100, or c) maybe the 1201N.
I'm assuming the 1201N gets longer battery life and the ION gets me over the HD video hump. I'm not sure if the Atom will kill me, but I'm thinking it will be fine. (I'm not expert though.) -
there's no HDMI?
-
I don't know about you but if i'm already putting down 75%~ of my budget on something. I would rather pay 200$ more to get a much better product. -
-
I was looking at some benchmarks and it looks like the Atom 330 (620) should outperform the SU3500 (472). Throw in ION graphics and it seems like the 1201N should be worth looking at depending on the price.
-
Man oh man i cant wait till this comes out. This is what I want... i mean need. G50 and home and this on the road.
-
Still, I'd like to see 330 too... Oct 20th eh? -
Anyone know anything more about the 1201N? Its past october 22nd
-
Still waiting for more about the 1201N.
-
-
Well, the 330 is still benchmarked at 620 while the U3500 is at 482. I'm not sure if that holds true in real life usage, but my SU3500 does everything I need it to do except handle full screen video.

Any ETA yet?
This ASUS looks promising. -
I found an article on engadget which says it will be released mid November in Italy. I'm sure they want to put it out here for the Christmas shopping season.
The picture also looks much nicer than the previous leaks I had seen. The screen bezel is not nearly as ghastly.

I can't wait for this. -
when is this coming out??

Hmmm, not bad looking at all.
-
What's the us price?
-
-
I wish more manufactures would realize that some of us would rather have good graphics instead of the latest and greatest processor. -
The 1201N is up for preorder...
http://www.excaliberpc.com/594196/asus-eee-pc-1201n-250gb.html#TabSpecification
$499
I think this will be my Christmas present to myself. -
Great find.
Any idea of when it's going to be available? -
Amazon also has it for preorder, ASUS 1201N 12.1-Inch Netbook (Silver) $499 Jan 15
-
-
it's a shame all those new not so cheap asus' doesn't have gigabit ethernet instead of 100mbit
-
Does anyone know if it is possible to add a 3G modem to this model?
(SIM card slot available/easily solderable/functioning internal MiniPCI-E slot?)
Also, does Snow Leopard go on easily? The Atom CPU would need some countermeasure to account for the new anti-Atom kernel check, but otherwise? I remember the N10J had some trouble... -
Thanks for link! But weak review. Seems either they have the HA version, not the N since they say it's a 1.3GHz processor (Z520), and they don't have ION but think they do. I say this based on the CPU speed and this quote:
"You can see some stutter when plugged into a HDTV, but it’s still more than watchable."
That's unacceptable IMHO. If it were ION I thought it could chug through 1080p video just fine. -
I'm not sold on the ION at this point: http://www.liliputing.com/2009/12/lenovo-ideapad-s12-with-nvidia-ion-reviewed.html
-
-
Yeah, I guess I'm not sold on the Atom processor and higher battery consumption. Oh, and the $500 price tag!
-
I have one preordered but still not sure if I will get one yet. The heat issue worries me since I live in AZ.

will they sell the red color to north america?
also, any word of the 1201T (AMD Congo processor & HD3200) coming here? -
I think I may hold out for the Acer Ferrari One. Athlon64 X2 and HD3200. I just don't care for the bright red paint job.

I am really up in the air what go get. I want something smaller like the 12.1 size that I can surf the web etc. From time to time play some WoW.
-
I would take the ION 330 over that combo, I guess it all depends on your needs. -
