I missed it if someone asked this but did Asus release a 14in laptop with the same graphics card that is in the G1s? I know they did that with the 7700 video card and I wouldn't find a smaller form factor with the same great speed.

No they did not, the new A8Sc only have a 8400 vs 8600 of the G1S. they alos put in a slower CPU T7100 vs T7200 and a lower res screen (1280x800 vs 1440x900) I just don't understand how they can manage to kill one of the best 14.1" laptop series so completely in one move.

Thats what I was thinking. I can understand teh slowe CPU and lower res(I can live with that) but the vid card from what I see would make it slower than the 7700?

That's good to know, just hate it when companies take a successful product and ruin it.

Yup, it's just like the A8 series -- which came out with A8Jm, then A8Jp, then A8Js. We're only at the beginning of the refresh cycle so expect similar bumps in performance for the next model line.

Ahh waiting... then when the A8Js refresh comes we'll be wanting the next thing ... Why does the G1 have to be so big? It's like an inch bigger than it should be, almost takes up as much space as a 17"...

I really hope they get the F8 out before the fall school quarter, otherwise I'll have to resort to that Zepto 14" one (looks great I'm just worried about the warranty belonging to a company overseas)

Yeah, it's too bad they are taking forever to get the new F8 out. Now I'm seriously considering the MacBook Pro. It's smaller than most 14" notebooks and it's 15.4, and it's got a 8600 GT in it... It's just that its $2000... (-$200 for student discount) so actually $1799.

It's a hard choice. To Wait! Or not to wait! Dun. Dun. Dun....

F8S is supposedly coming in August but it has a ATI 2600HD in it, not a nvidia gpu.

ATI 2600 HD might be a lot worser than ATI 2600 XT, which is a 8600 GT equivalent. I think it's kind of odd that computex is over and there are hardly any websites talking about the F8
