Asus had a monitor with those incredible specs back at computex (Linus covered it even). Has anyone heard anything about when this thing could come out or what its pricing would be? It sounds like the dream.

Dont expect the pricing to be anything less than $1000. Availability might be Q1 next year.
-
Oh I know. I'm hoping for GSync support so I know it'll be high, but I'd prefer it to be under 1500. 900-1100 is what I'd hope for. 1080 Ti SLI would actually be able to take advantage of it.
-
I mean if someone is going to use Titan XP or 1080 Ti SLI, Gsync really shouldn't be a priority. Its only helps with very low frame rates in SP games.
-
Nope... At 144hz its main thing is it stops tearing and stuttering. SLI without gsync feels super stuttery to me now, and tearing is the thing it was meant to fix in the first place. It actually works worse at lower framerates, idk why people say that... Like 40fps gsync still feels slow, but 50 isn't noticeable.
-
Dunno man, i have a 144hz G-Sync monitor, and it feels like a waste of money. Even when i was using it on a desktop with 2 x 980's.
But i rarely play single player games, last game i played was Witcher 3. \
Tearing occurs only when the GPU's arent able to keep up. And with 2 x 1080Ti's, doubt anything like that will happen. Also i haven't had issues with SLI in games, when SLI works it works. Otherwise i just disable it. -
Idk turning GSync off always makes the frame timings seem worse to me. Feels smother with it on.
-
Feels smoother sure, but it adds a good amount of input lag.
-
Haven't pretty extensive tests shown that GSync input lag is pretty minimal? I thought its only slightly more than what it should be at any given fps?
-
At a certain fps yep. With increased variation and lower fps, the lag is pretty noticeable. And specially for people who are used to fast paced shooters.
-
Well yeah its pretty large with any huge framedrops, but those can be kept to a minimum usually.
