I suggested this unit to someone and can't get the wireless to work. I'm under the gun here. Bought it last night.

The wireless networks show but have a yellow exclamation point over them. Sometimes I can connect but sometimes it drops.

I have done the Win 7 updates and dled the asus drivers from the asus site and installed those. I don't see any conflicts in device manager.

It may be something to do with wimax, we're not using it and it might need to be setup not to be used? Don't know, new to this laptop and asus.

    Please help.

Go into safe mode and uninstall the wifi driver. Restart back into safe mode and install the wifi driver from either your driver disk or the Asus website. See if that solves the issue.

The problem turned out not to be the 52uf it was a problem windows 7.

Seems connecting to windows 7 is a problem. I can't wifi tether from my phone to the 52 or connect to a windows 7 machine running a router. I ran the router off an XP machine and no problem at all with either my phone or the 52u. 17mb down and 4 up.

I tried several different methods to connect, a cisco router and a netgear 3300 and windows 7 virtual router. Nothing would connect under windows 7 but all worked fine on XP.
