The Airo laptop has been debuted long ago. I wonder when is it ever going into production if there is indeed any plans for it. I'd probably pick one up if it was reasonably priced.

    Great stuff from ASUS.
Love the G73. Good thing they are addressing some of the heat related issues from the G series line.

The NX90 series doesn't look bad either. The design kind of reminds me of some of the Sony laptops.

msi has been using brushed aluminum in their barebones for over a year now. Their design in their barebones is top notch and unlike asus they managed to avoid any and all issues in their 1651 and now 1656. i see good things from msi in the future. The only way to get a custom asus is to come to one of their few dealers that customize their branded line. Sorry not a fan of the g73 nor of the g51. great bang for the buck on both though. The goal is for more power and lower profile and better battery life. I consider that innovation. Apple has done it. Even msi has done it. Asus has been there in the past but not with g51 or g73. I do like the look of the g73. definitely a huge improvement.

Yeah but I would want them to use LM (18W) or UM (25W) Arrandales, no optical drive, and have a version with integrated graphics only.

The new Asus NX90. Looks quite futuristic and somehow looks like a mix between Sony and Bang & Olufsen designs. I can't seem to figure out if I love it or hate it.

Looks good to me. I've hated the looks of the Asus systems except for the W90. The new ones are very nice.

<s>Lol, I like how the commentator also mentioned how the looks are similar to B&O :D </s>

Apparently Asus was working with Bang & Olufsen's Chief designer to design this laptop..... no wonder I thought there were some similarities here :p

Does anyone have the battery life stats on the base U6 with the intel gpu, and then with the nvidia gpu?

I didn't know there was one with the intel P cpu and 9300gs gpu. That is pretty bad the battery life. The one I was thinking of had an older nvidia gpu, and if I am not mistaken an ULV intel cpu(same as the base model with the intel x3100 gpu). Thank you.

The one with the integrated graphics is the U6E. It came with a T7500 CPU and X3100 graphics. It still has lacking battery life from what I see:

I take it the model with the nvidia 8400 was a bit worse on battery life vs the 9300gs model? I find it interesting the U6 comes with an e-sata, I wonder if this update model will have it also. I thought the U6 also came with an intel ulv cpu, but I guess I was thinking of the U2, or another Asus model.

Totally digging the ASUS U53. Hooray for switchable graphics! :D (Hope it goes into production though, not like some other models which never saw retail light)

I'm so glad to see that Asus is targeting style/premium/performance again, not just bargain-for-performance.

The NX is excellent looking and could be my next laptop. The only thing I don't understand is WHY, WHY CUT A BACKLIT KEYBOARD? They've got power, they've got design, they've got materials, so why cut one thing that just screams "high end". I'm also very interested in the U series if I decide on something more portable. I'd love to buy the bamboo versions, but I should hope they're a ton cheaper than the original ones ($2000). I hope they put the latest tech in the U series and don't cut any corners (like aforementioned backlit keys). Finally, the new G73 looks great. Earlier preorder pics didn't seem to really capture the change in design. I like the matte black and angular design. Still, it looks like it has new tech, didn't forget the backlit keyboard, and a better thermal design.

Sure glad I waited and didn't buy a laptop in December! I hope all the Asus resellers here start taking pre-orders and customizing soon! Xotic, Gentech, BTO etc..
