    I'm looking for a 17" backup laptop/pseudo-desktop replacement and came across the Asus A73E-XE1 and K73E-A1. Any ideas what the difference might be between the two product lines? Because from the specs, they look pretty identical to me. Both are part of Asus' Versatile Performance line-up.

    The A and K series are nearly the same in the majority of respects, and share the same bios/chassis in many cases. For the specific differences, you need to pull up spec sheets for each and compare yourself.

    Primarily just given different model letters by Asus for different global market regions.

    I've been wondering about this for a while too. I've always hated that because it gets so confusing! Wouldn't it just be easier for the consumer and the company if they kept the names the same for all regions? :confused:

    That's why I'm a bit confused. The specifications are exactly the same from CPU to RAM to HDD to battery to weight and dimensions. Even the warranty is the same. One's selling for $699 and the other for $649, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why.
