If you want a laptop with a good keyboard for lots of typing, a ThinkPad is it.

It's a pretty nice laptop for what you need. The screen is a regular matte screen, not color shine or anything. I'd say it's just an average screen. If I'm not mistaken I think I saw that the inside was made of carbon fibre? (someone can correct me on this) I assume it's carbon fibre because it's not as smooth as plastic (you can feel or see some threads on the inside) It's a regular ratio screen by the way and the max resolution is 1024x768.

It's pretty light too. If you're carrying it around you might compare it to 1 or 2 textbooks for the weight. Average build quality. Not as sturdy as the monstrosity of my Toshiba A70, but not as heavy either. It was quite light without the battery when I saw it.

If you're really penny pinching this would be the laptop to buy. Here in Canada, I've seen some go for $949. (that's Canadian) The money you could save, you can use to buy an extra RAM module, maybe bump up the Ram to 1 Gig.
