Hello there, Im very new to this site, and greatful already with the help Ive received with bloatware, including asus stuff, with references from his site. My question is, does anyone here have a ASUS A52F-XE5, also known as the K52 at the asus web site. Secondly, while I'm ver impressed with data transfer rate(43gigs in 20 min) for a laptop with an i3, pretty good? like the idea of free web server from asus. the 500 gig hd isnt really 500, more like 430 partitioned?. third, how do i fix the audio, terrible. I do love the info on this site!!!!

Hi asusmike and welcome to the forums :)

The data transfer rate is almost purely the result of your hard drive specifications. A larger and faster RPM hard drive will usually yield faster transfer speeds. The CPU will not have much of an affect here.

Hard drive manufactures market their products in SI prefixes while file systems report capacity in powers of 1024. There's a slight discrepancy, but it's nothing you should be worried about since it's pretty much an industry standard. In addition, Asus partitions their hard drives with an extra hidden partition, hence this will take up a few more GBs of space.

For your audio issue, you will need to elaborate on the issue a bit more. Does it just sound horrible or does the speakers not work? Laptop speakers in general are terrible. Lacks bass and the tiny speakers often get muffled or static at max volume. The best way around this is to use a pair of headphones or connect your laptop to external speakers.
