Hello eveyone, i have bought ASUS A53SV ASUS - Notebooks- ASUS A53SV laptop this year with 500GB 7200rpm SATA drive. I'm looking forward to buying a new SDD instead of hard drive, but i'm not sure, if my laptop's motherboard will support SATA 3 mode? There's intel hm65 chipset onboard which supports sata 3, Intel® HM65 Express Chipset
but still I'm not sure about sata 3 on my laptop.
    Any help ? :)

Mm. The chipset does support sata 3. The power-supply on even the smallest zenbooks is large enough to supply stable current for any 2.5' drive. But the bios on all of the models up until recently have been locked to sata 2.

I have searched the forum and found that one japanese/chinese guy were able to mod his bios in order to support SATA3. I hope that in the near future we will be able to do same with our computers...
