    Hello,

I have a brand new a55a with windows 8. I hooked it up to my tv and got video, but no sound.

I went to control panel>sound and only saw speakers as available devices on the playback tab. I made sure both checks were on to show all disabled and disconnected devices.

Not sure where to go from here. Which drivers contain the HDMI functionality might be a handy piece of information?

    Any help would help!

Could be your chipset driver. The HDMI port is routed to the Intel HD graphics, so you may want to update that too while you're at it.

Thank you new driver did it!
Weird, the driver version I had was correct according to ASUS, and I had been to another site seeking Intel drivers, but was warned that ASUS used a modified version and I should not use the Intel drivers???
Anyway, I went to the Intel site you provided and just went for it and it works great!!!
    Thanks again.
