    Hello,

It's been a while since I've been to this sub-forum the last time but now I need some help. I'm trying to take apart my Asus A6JM to install a new CPU fan. I took out every screw I could find but still cannot take out the bottom part of the case.

Can anybody provide me with a service manual for A6000 series for a reference?

ANY help will be greatly appreciated

    [BUMP]

Any one? I'm still having problems taking my Asus apart so ANY help would be welcomed. I managed to find some brochure (not even a proper manual) explaining how to replace a heatsink/fan but it must have been and older design cause it looked different than on my laptop.

Send a PM to Ken @ Gentech (GentechPC) - he may be able to help.

Thank you VERY much for your replies, guys. I actually managed to find this document that you kindly provided but the heat sink on my Asus (A6JM) is quite a bit different.

Basically the whole heat sink is one piece of copper and the actual fan is somehow built into it (unlike in the A6U manual, where fan sits in a square piece of metal that can be taken out). I'd have to take the whole thing out to remove the fan but I cannot cause I'm unable to remove the bottom case. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I took every single screw that I could find but there's still something holding it (in the back/middle section).

Do you happen to have a manual for A6JM (or any other similar model) that I could use? Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot, Ken. It looks like that's the manual I have been trying to get for some time now. Much appreciated. I'll try to replace the fan but in case I'm stuck again, do you have any experience with servicing Asus laptops? Would you mind if I PM you a question (in case I can't figure out something myself)?

    Thanks again

Do you have a service manual for A6KM? I need to change the fan. Is it easy to change?

    Hi,

I recently took a faulty A6T apart, and I got stuck at exactly the same point as you. It took me 2 months to figure out that I needed to take the keyboard off in order to loosen 1 final screw to get the bottom of the laptop to come apart. Check out this video to see if it's any help, it certainly helped me a lot!
