    Hey Guys,

First post but have lurking for a year hehe. Was just wondering if anyone knew the max ram capacity of the A6J? I've read that if your system has 4GB of RAM or have upgraded to 4GB (Or more) and running a 32-Bit Operating System, It will most likely say you have around 3GB of RAM. So should I just go for a 2gb + 1gb kit?

    Thanks heaps! :)

I suggest 3GB, it's safer. Currently many notebooks have problems with 4GB.

Did you check the owner's lounge? Maybe an answer is there. If not, your starting point should be here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=122632

Edit: correction, there is no owner's lounge.

I stand by my suggestion, stick with 3GB, it's best for your pocket and for your computer troubles.

Cool, thanks heaps. So do the slots support upto 2gb chips in them? Or should I just go for 2x1gb modules to be safe?

I ran the Crucial memory test from their site and they gave me this:

    Your Computer Specifications

    512 MB DDR PC2-5200 512 MB
    Maximum Memory Capacity: 4194304 MB
    Currently Installed Memory: 1024 MB
    Available Memory Slots: N.A.
    Number of Banks: 2
    Dual Channel Support: N.A.
    CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
    CPU Family: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz Model 14, Stepping 8
    CPU Speed: 1833 MHz

So it can take upto 4gb but there may be hassles right? I don't know what's the best avenue to take. I just want to upgrade my ram :)

I suggest 2+1GB. There might be issues with the 2GB (despite what the tester says) but the likelihood is small.
