Anybody knows why after a while the backlight lamp of the display goes off
and is never returning on ?
After wake-up from stand-by condition, I can see on screen all video
information but lamp is still off.
I belive the trouble is caused by settings of PowerGear power profiles.

    Anybody experienced this trouble?

I don't understand. The backlight lamp of the display? So your display is really dark?

Maybe try installing the latest power4gear software to see what happens or uninstall it then see if it continues.

My bet is with the wake up...ie XP its self, there are numerous bugs that have been reported with pc's not waking up properly from sleep, mostly due to a failure of XP to properly restart drivers. I would suggest just doing a reboot if this occurs, and avoid using hybernate.

Personally, I use hibernation all the time without problems.

If you can see the poor quality video information on the screen then the problem is with the backlight, most likely with the inverter that supplies the power (unless you have an LED backlight system). I had this happen to me several years ago. Restarting the computer usually managed to kick the backlight back into life, but the problem progressively got worse until it was fixed under warranty.

no the inverter is fine. if he hits FN and the lcd botton on the keyboard im sure the lamp will turn on. its a software issue.

Hey! Sorry about your problem, I can't help with it but....

Could you please tell me how you like your A6J!! I'm desperately waiting for it to arrive here in Canada. Could you tell me your specs and how you like the look of it, the weight, and anything else?

    Thanks! :)

I think your problem is different, you have a hardware fault whereas he had a power management bug.

I can't be sure of course. To check you should run your computer in another OS such as Live Linux for a while, see if the backlight goes off. If yes, it's very likely it's hardware and not software, like in the OPs case.
