Has anyone from a6k owners upgraded their memory to 400mhz sodimms ? i just had changed it today, the choice was a corsair valueselect 1gb dimm (which is supposed to be tested etc...) and my machine doesn't really work anymore, it crashes and the memory tests like memtest86 fail.

Has anyone else experienced this problems and can a6k drive the 400mhz ddr rams at all ? The chipset itself, sis756 is used to produced motherboards that run 400mhz rams by default, so i'm quite speechless ($%^@^@ is going on ? :p)

Can it just be that the Corsair memory that i caught was faulty ? Luckily for me it has lifetime warranty, so if it's the fault of the memory i can get it replaced.

So, anyone running their sweet a6k-s on 400mhz rams ? Or if not did you experience the same problems ?

got it back to service and replaced the corsair chip

until now the machine runs and is stable, we'll see if it keeps it that way.

the weird thing seems to be that the previous memory of the same type had cl 3.0, now the new one that they took from the same self claims to be 2.5

i think the shop tried to trick me for a faulty one

anyway, works now, me happy

I've got corsair value ram 512MB DDR400 CL2.5 in my z92u (the one in the sig)

I've got 256MB of DDR333 (1/2 of what came with the lappy) and the 512 corsair.

I just took out the 256 chip and noticed that when the so called CL2.5 corsair runs by itself cpuz says its only running at CL3 but it is running at 200MHz...

strange... nothing that RMclock cant fix :)

glad you got it sorted though.
