Interresting. The already available models in the A6-series (G/U/Ne) seems to be very competitivley priced in the various markets where they are available. Now there seems to be coming various A6V to replace the G and A6K to replace the U.
If the price is right (i.e. cheaper than the M6V) Asus could have a 'mainstream' hit on their hands here. Now: Give me an A6K with that MRX700 to push the price further down compared to a similarly specced P-M model and I'm *so* there. Ferrari 4000 performance sans the flair for half the price: Yes please!

Asus never mentioned bringing the A6 in as a sonoma model.... they want to keep their amd and intel models unique... at least here in the states.
I think that Asus' intentions would be to put out the new W1 which basically has those specs..... rather than make it high high end performance and screen, in the chassis of the A6... This may be the reason we are getting that new W1..... and most likely a configurable W1 as well.
Don't rule it out, but at the same time, don't even consider this being cheaper than the Z70v/Z71v.... The chassis is plastic and the screen and graphics card is nicer. Best on the specs, it would be a whole lot in an old frame... I wouldn't suggest they bring this in... but like I said, rather a configuable whitebook W1 all in carbon fiber instead of the aluminum lid and palmrest.
Thanks,
Justin

That reasoning makes sense for the US, I guess. Better chance of it arriving soon in Europe as there's (mostly) no Z71v's around and the M6V is comaratively more expensive than the Z70v is in the US (almost as much as the V6). They're really missing a 'performace mainstream' model in the European market as the M6N that used to fill that niche is getting long in the tooth and is becoming overpriced compared to the like 15 Acer models in that segment along with several Quanta KN1, MSI and AOpen whitebooks.

Yeah, I mean... don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if it came here given all of the new models. However, that's part of the problem... too many new models. Asus would be able to put out a better selling, higher-end system in the W1 and maybe a barebone version of the W1 than they would in the A6's chassis... For me and I think all of you... even if the W1's chassis was all carbon fiber, the look of it is certainly nicer than the A6 and therefore, it could still be "main stream" and yet a little more money. Asus doesn't want to be main stream as far as I know........ and the Z71v is as main stream as we're going to get. I think we may only have the customer base for one of those type of systems.
Thanks,
Justin
