Has the Asus A8J/A8Ja/A8Jm had a bios update yet so that it supports Core 2 Duo's?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also, if there aren't official Bios', are there any 3rd party modded ones? Surely if the W3J recieves support, the A8J should as well!

I've got an A8Jm and am keen to know about this too.

Also, whether there'd be any real advantages putting it in this particular machine!!

All the A8Jx series comes with C2D these days, so yes, bios support for these do exist. Just upgrade your proc, and flash to the latest bios.

    Scuse the ignorance..

Are you saying my A8Js is only running on one core? When I view a cpu monitor in Vista it's definately using 2 cores. What does this thread mean exactly?

There were previous versions of the A8J that ran Pentium M processors. Rest assured that your A8Js is dual core.

The starter of this thread is merely wondering if he can upgrade his Pentium M processor in his very old A8J to a newer Core 2 Duo.

I don't think there were every Pentium M A8Js.... There were Core Duo models though.

The OP is asking if the BIOS updates exist to allow upgrade from Core Duo to Core 2 Duo. I don't know. There is one for the W3J.
