    The main differences are:

    about $200 in price

    A8JS is 2.0 Ghz
    A8SC is 1.8 Ghz

A8JS has NVIDIA GeForce Go 7700, 512mb video memory
    A8SC has NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G, 128mb video memory

    A8JS is WXGA+
    A8SC is WXGA

I can't decide which.. I think both laptops have battery life of about 3 hours, which is decent for me. I don't do very heavy gaming, but I'd like to play that CS:Source that I bought two years ago, and couldn't play because my desktop computer couldn't handle it.

The A8Js doesn't have 3 hours battery life, I don't think. Max should be 100-120 minutes. The A8Js is a superior machine in just about every way.

Really? Is this when it's pretty much idle, or is that with actually doing things on it?

Yes, it is. There are several threads concerning the F8sa and the F8sv in this forum, do a search.

Listening MP3, Word, Excel. I'm not sure if it also lasts the 2h30m with the wireless on (although I believe it is able to get 2.30 with wifi on). I had some devices disconnected since I don't use them: infrared, bluetooth, Camera, Modem, and with the GPU in maximum powersavings mode. I also use NHC to undervolt, but my settings have the fan always on, although at a lower rpm than the default (2555 vs 3200). All this using XP. I've heard that Vista reduces the battery life, but haven't tried yet.
