    Hey guys,

I have an Asus A8js which is around a year old now. I love my laptop but there are a few things bothering me. The top cover of the laptop repeatedly cracks, with chunks of plastic actually comming loose. Furthermore, the PgDn key just came out today.

I have no complaints about the performance whatsoever, and I dont treat it very rough at all. Im a college student so trips to the library are regular, and I make sure i put it in my carry bag securely all the time. What is causing this to happen? Is there any way I can prevent it, like buying a hard case or something?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is the wellknown problem of the A8 hinges cracking. Please see for instance the A8J owner's lounge (linked from the Info Booth sticky)

It's also a known problem at ASUS so you should be able to fix it from warranty, if you are still covered.
