I'm shortly getting my S96J and as i'm buying from the US to use in the UK i need to sort out the AC adaptor, in the short run a travel plug adaptor is fine but for the long run i want a proper solution.

I'd ideally rather use a proper Asus adaptor so i either need to buy a replacement adaptor in the UK or even better just a replacement power cord, but is one Asus AC adaptor the same as any other? If i bought a new cord for a UK adaptor would it fit into a US adaptor (i've a feeling the sockets are different)?

If i just go for the easiest option and get universal adaptor what specifications will it need, and do resellers usually view using 3rd person mains as voiding warranty?

The ac adaptor for my a8jm uses the same cord from the transformer to the wall plug as my Compaq EVO. Hope this helps ya.

The power brick is universal.. meaning that it can auto switch from 120-240 voltages. So you can either get just the UK cord and connect that into the power brick, or you can get a converter to just add to the end of the plug.
