Just got an Asus C90S today from avadirect.com

Thing runs great. My only problem is a grave one, however. It doesn't like it when I unplug the AC Adapter. And that's not it. I have to restart the computer and if I leave the AC Adapter out I get the faded Windows Boot Screen. No error messages anywhere. It simply will not act. Now since I just got this, is there some process I need to go through? The laptop has been plugged in for nearly 10 hours, so I don't understand how the battery hasn't replenished itself.

Any speculation or help is greatly appreciated.

Did you try the thread "C90 common problems and fixes"? People had a lot of issues with this notebook (too many if you ask me), some of them were due to bad or incompatible RAM, some due to BIOS bugs and so on.

You should check that thread this sounds familiar.
