Hey I was planning on buying the Asus C90S from a Canadian distributer because I live in Canada. One site said the base price was $1200 and the other site was approximately $850. The one priced @ 850 had the graphics card as "optional upgrade".

I got confused because I thought the Asus C90S came with the 8600 gt card as a default and you can upgrade/downgrade that card if you wish to because all the other distributors comes with that card. When it says upgrade optional, does that mean that the laptop doesnt have a video card and you have to get one yourself?

    Thanks

yep, any of the 800$ ish sites are selling the c90 with no video card, and the card cost about 200$ so its right back up to 1000$ again

I notice that Infonec has just put the notebooks in their line, while Milestone PC has had it for a while.. I compared them a while ago, but Infonec seemed to give a better price for exactly the same configuration (ie. Infonec is cheaper than Milestone PC if you buy every component there).

As for the barebone price itself, Infonec sells it for $829 w/o the 8600GT. If you add the graphic card in, it'll be $1034. Milestone PC sells it for $1249..

Circuit city is US ONLY so stop recommending it to everyone.

PLus, thet 1599 model is no more there and it is cheaper on gentech or even directly for velocity's website.

Even if you are in Canada, get from gentech (1toppc.com). This is where I'm going to get it. Milestone is overpriced and I've heard that infonec isn't really reliable.

Because it's a velocity. There will be no Asus logo/CD with it. The logo is the velocity one and the recovery cd too.

And it's $50 cheaper if you buy it directly from velocitymicro.com
