after searching for a long time, could not find a solution, and this old Asus C90S has been back to fixing a few times, already, always the same problem, power problem. when i plug my adapter into the laptop, battery does not charge... and nor does electricity goes into the computer, i have to adjust the angle of the connection of the adapter and the laptop a million times before the battery charging light comes on, and if i move the laptop around or shakes it it loses power again, and could not get the laptop to charge again, and it is not the adapter's problem, since the adapter works with my other asus laptops, just having problem with C90S, anyone else got the same problem? or has a fix to it? because i hate spending 200 bucks every year sending this thing back to fix.
Thanks

i also have this problem. Sometimes the battery-LED glows, when the AC-adapter is plugged in. Sometimes nothing glows.
Windows run till the battery is empty, then in will turn off.
Days ago, i wrote an email to ASUS-support and they said, it´s a bug in the motherboard, so they will change it. -

Mapleshilc it sounds like your problem is due to a loose power connection. Considering it has happened several times maybe you have(are) put/putting too much strain on the power cable leading to the problem. Always leave plenty of slack on the power cable.
As for the other problem I have experienced it occasionally with my C90P and I simply have to pop the battery out then back in again for it to resume charging. This problem is a rare one for me however. -
actually the cable is fine, i got myself a voltage meter, and it measures 18-19 V coming out of the power cable, i also opened my C90S back plate, and plugged the power cable in, and measured DC in and DC out on the motherboard, and it shows 2V... which means nothing is getting in, because when its charging, it measures 18-19 V on the mb too
and repoping in the battery isnt a problem because even without the battery with the power cable plugged in, i still couldnt turn on the C90, unless the voltage reads 18 V on the mb -
Did you check on your motherboard the actual power connector? Not the cable, but the female connector that is soldered onto the mobo itself? hook the power cable up and check with the volt meter the pins of that connector where it is soldered to the board. Then try putting a little force on the pug in a few different directions to see if you lose connectivity. My C90s does the same thing sometimes but it's because that female adapter on mine is slightly flaky.

yeah thats where i get the voltage from, errm, the problem is, its soldered solid tight, and there isnt a connection problem, i used 2 wires to connect the positive and negative from the cable to the mb's female connector, still doesnt work...

It could be the AC adapter tip is too short, I remember there is one C90S MB revision needs to re-work on power connector in order for AC adapter to connect properly.
