Ive been wanting to buy the Asus C90 for a while but its not out in the UK yet. But i found this Website who do sell it under a different name. Cyberpowersystem.co.uk they call it Gamer Xplorer X5-C90 Notebook.
I hadnt heard of the company so did a bit of research and saw mostly the American reviews saying it was a terrible company to buy from. So i asked them a couple of questions to see what they had to say.

They only sold it with up to 2Gb ram so i asked if it could be upgraded to 3 as i had seen store in the US selling it with 3Gb and i asked if it comes with Asus turbo gear for overclocking.
The reply was less than impressive, she said it cant be upgraded to 3Gb only 2Gb or 4Gb and that it doesnt come with 'overcolocking' ability. She couldnt spell either. So i asked again, this time i sent it to the tech support and his reply was:
" We sell the OEM version of the notebook which does not come with turbo gear."

Im not that technically brilliant with computers but i was just wondering if this can be right since thats kind of the main selling point to the laptop is the Overclocking ability.

    Appreciate your advice

The Turbo gear utility is availalbe for download at asus.com. So even if they dont give you a cd with the software on it you can just download it.

    Thanks Wave.

I knew it didnt support 4gb, thats whats making me a bit worried about buying from them, They dont seem to know what they are talking about.

Look at the ratings between 6.50 and 8.50, I've done business with a nmber of those companies with no problem.

I ordered my C90s from cyberpowerpc.com, it was exactly as I had spec'ed, and delivered as promised. I have had issues, but no more than or any different than any C90 delivered by any other reseller mentioned here.

What we are involved in here is a bleeding edge early production machine, not unlike any other new electronic device. My first (pre-0rdered) DLP TV had issues, my first Directivo (pre-ordered) had issues, heck look at all the flaws in Vista in which ever flavor you get.

BTW, I didn't even pre-order the C90, ordered it on a whim, and couldn't really be any happier.

I eventually ordered my c90 form cyberpwer UK and haver to say no problems at all. They may a bit slow at responding but that doesnt bother me. The even gave me a refund of £50 for not having any english keyboards and giving me a US one.

It was delivered early and working fine, so i have no complaints about them.
