After updating my bios from 402 to the 502 version, my ram speeds were still the same (333mhz). I noticed many people had this same problem, but has anyone had any luck getting their's to 667 or at least 533 with the 502 version?

    Thanks in advance!

    Isn't 333mhz really 667mhz in dual channel?

333mhz will be 667, wether your are in dual or single channel.

DDR stands for double data rate so if you are at 333, it gives you 667 (rounded)

3gb's of ram means 1x1gb and1x2gb, which won't run in dual channel(according to the reps at OCZ).

Hello Vicious-cool avatar. I searched "asymetric dual channel" and came up with this forum which said that for games assymetric is just about the same as single channel. This was from an Intel white paper. its a good read

You can press "Tab" key at Asus logo when you turn on the computer, it should tell you the memory speed at 4300 (533).

It's weired that if you go back from 704 to 502 the RAM speed will still say it's PC4300, you can only get 667 if you flash BIOS from 402 to 502 which we don't understand why and already reported to Asus.

Yes very true, however its decieving (have not read the article yet) because even normal dual channel wont effect much in games, its only a very small boost really only noticeable in benchmarks concerning memory. Not something you will notice in every day tasks.

That's because of the FSB, DDR2 667 only works at 667 with a 1333mhz bus.

It's not like you'd see a difference though
