It's been two years since I got my C90S.
I have never been able to use my camera because the driver has never worked.
Whenever it is activated, the computer would instantly crash (BSOD)
I gave up on it a long time ago, but now I'm just curious...

It's the "GenesysLogic USB2.0 PC Camera" that came with C90S, and I have Vista 64 bit.

    Anybody's got a fix? Thanks :)

Do you still have the original driver dvd that came with the laptop?

I recommend going to add/remove programs in control panel - uninstall the existing driver/software on there as it could be corrupted. Then go into program files and make sure no files relating to the camera software remain in there (delete if there are).

Finally download a very useful small app called CCleaner - run both the normal clean and the registry clean then restart the computer.
Under normal clean it is perfectly safe to check all the boxes except "wipe free space" (unless you want to wait a long time lol), leave all boxes checked under the registry clean tab.

Lastly install the driver/software once more. Hopefully it will work for you then. I do recommend keeping CCleaner onboard as it really keeps your computer quick, clean and healthly.

I do not have the driver CD anymore, but the current driver should be the one installed from the CD.
What would you suggest ,for that case?
Also, has your method worked before for other users?

Just curious: What does CCleaner do, exactly? I'm guessing it cleans your computer in some way.

    Thanks

If you PM me an email address I could sent you the program files as an attachment - it is only about 1meg in size.

CCleaner cleans all the rubbish out of your computer such as temp internet files, cookies etc. Registry clean the registry. It does what it says it does on the tin :) I haven't given this solution to anybody as you are the first to come here with this problem so I just thought up this solution today :D

Let me know if it works.

Using 64bits right? The problem is fixed under Vista SP2 & Windows 7. It's the first thing I noticed when I tried SP2 beta and Win7 beta.
