The C90S wifi is atrocious. I know mine cannot connect to a weak signal, but once connected I can return to remoter parts of house where signal is weaker. Maybe your signal became too weak?
Reinstall the drivers and software from intel's website if you use intel proset wireless then see if it happens again. Also update to the latest 1002 bios version and see if that helps.

Woah! theres a bios above 902? holy crap.. where have I been.. lol

Can you direct me to the bios? Btw I just formatted the day b4 I posted this an got all of what I believe to be the latest drivers. Though I am having some difficulty locating newer drivers for the SD card slot an some of intels other things.

Perhaps I should just post a list of all I'm using? I'm also not sure what you mean by the wifi proset.. I'm running the version I originally posted.

    Looking forward to your response.

    -----------

    Edit

I found the bios on asus site, is there any specific way to run the new one? is global the same as english? need some details so I don't mess this up,
its been along time since I've done this.. all I can remember is burning something to a cd an running it at boot.

Ken from gentechpc uploaded the easy to use iso file, this bios will also allow you to upgrade to the newer e7300,e7500 processors

    http://www.gentechpc.com/Asus/C90S-Mod-BIOS.zip

Make sure your computer is at AC power before update the BIOS and do it at your own risk.
1: Download the ISO and burn using nero onto the CD.
2: Restart the computer with CD in the drive and press "ESC" once when you see the Asus logo.
3: Select boot from CD drive and press enter.
4: Computer will boot to A:\ prompt
5: Type UPDATE and press enter
6: BIOS flash will start and DON"T turn off or press any key or buttons on the laptop.
7: It'll go back to A: prompt when BIOS flash is finished.
8: restart the computer and press F2 to enter BIOS.
9: press F10 to save and exit BIOS.

Intel proset is the name of the card I have but I think mine is 3945 or something not the newer 4965 so perhaps yours is better. Flicking open the D door to see what the card is called would be easiest.

    Hope this helps

edit: I do indeed have the 3945. Also both 3945 and 4965 are intel proset wireless cards. Only difference seems to be that 3945 lacks draft N support:a/b/g while yours supports a/g/n. Same drivers are used however.

Well I'd love to update the bios but I'm now trying to resolve why I'm burning blank cd-r's and getting repetitive cd-rw "power calibration" errors.

My specs are listed in my first post, I'm not sure what to do to fix the issue from this point for the wifi freezes or the blank burns/errors.

    --------

Below is nero's log of the error, other programs have the same issue of course.

Be warned the log for nero is rather long..

Could be the router, I just replace my Linksys router (2nd time) with Netgear, the router start to go bad and acting weired that I had to reboot several times in order to get connection, finally it will not connect no matter what I do so I just bought a new router and problem solved.

I am not saying it must be the cause of your wifi issue but you can give it a try.

Replacing things is nice when you have work and $ to do that.

I've been out of work "officially" for 3 years an going, what work i do on the side has died down to a point I've got no income at all anymore.
So while I appreciate the idea, its not an option. However when I do get the $ I will replace the router anyways an my cd drive too.

Which it seems I might have to make a seperate thread for the cd issue if ken doesn't have any ideas on that?
Thanks in advance to all who try to help ^.^

    -------

Edit: I forgot to add just now, hey ken the wifi reconnects upon reboot just fine, its when i close the lid to the laptop or turn the screen off over nite I lose connection.
I could leave my screen on an not close the lid an wifi remains on forever, it only happens when I do those 2 things. (the lid close is a new thing btw).

why don't you just turn the laptop off during the night and boot back up every morning, that would solve the issue and the time lost would be next to nothing. Plus you would save $$ on the electricity bills :p

I've tried burning my bios cd in 3 different pc's using different software, between memorex cd-r/rw & "color labratories" cd-r.

Regardless blank burns, also my cd drive still plays cds & dvds.
I should also note that I've burned at every available speed on each pc, always the same results.

Maybe theres another way to update the bios?

Make sure you're burning the BIOS as an ISO and use the lowest burning speed possible.

Yeah use nero and burn at 4x selecting it as an iso. If it is successful then you shouldn't be able to see anything on the disk in windows. So in effect it will seem like a blank burn but it isn't.

I've tried burning in nero at all available speeds, an another program the same speeds. All programs & utilities read the disc as empty.

If I reboot with the disc in, wither I change the boot to cd or use esc to boot from cd all I get is a black screen with a phrase like "please insert correct media type blah blah an hit enter" and if I hit enter a few times it repeats itself then boots into windows ignoring the cd entirely so it has to be blank.

hmm I am not sure why that is happening, I have used that very iso from ken to update my bios so it should work. Maybe the download got corrupted somehow, however unlikely that is to be.

Maybe send ken a pm as he is the expert on these iso's.
