Alienware's design still looks better, but it's obvious they took a lot of design cues from Alienware. Now you can get a nice gaming rig at a good value ;).

Asus never released any official specs yet, but I'd guess it was SLI-capable.

I want a black monolithic case: black and shiny with no stupid plexi-panel.

    Haha, nice Ken.

My favorite case on the whole market and the one I plan to use when I build my next Pc is the Antec P182SE

Its both fancy and simple at the same time, but more importantly to me as a experienced PC builder is the performance and quality. Everything from huge fans and no noise to things like the mobo tray.

A Cylon was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that too. Not really my cup o tea, way to obvious to dust and finger prints.

I'd say that looks more Transformers than Alien.

why did they copy it? they have had the vento design for years now. They revised it a few times. I think copy is not a correct term.

For anyone wondering about this impressive system, here's the full specs:
Support for Intel Core 2 Extreme
Up to 8GB of DDR3 memory
    NVIDIA 3-way SLI
Up to 4 Terabytes of HD space
    Dual Power power modules
    Liquid cooled

Really, really, really nice specs for a system that'll probably stay well under the price of competitors' desktops. The system's called the ARES CG6150, look out for it soon.

Weren't the original Alienware build with Asus parts anyways? Same with the XPS m1330 and the new Asus UMPC, Asus isn't copying Dell, because Asus is building the XPS m1330.

lol, I remember when Alienware started off, I thought no one would be dumb enough to buy one for the price they were charging, guess I was wrong :p

Pre-Builts just are not my thing when it comes to desktops. Id only be intrested if it was cheaper than me getting parts myself. Plus I find that with pre-built desktops in alot of cases they stamp all the nice stuff on the box like "XXXXX video card, XXXXX ram" you know all the highest stuff but then you find crap components to compliment it like a cheap motherboard, or low quality hard drive/ram ect.

Ebay prebuilts are guilty of this, almost aways they use a cheap mobo and psu, and those are your 2 very core parts of the machine to start with!
