So my roommate has the Asus EEE 1000he net-book. It flubbed up on him somehow, so he bought an external DVD drive to use the disk for recovery. Well He sets it to boot priority external device, turns off boot speed etc. it recognizes the drive, says any key to boot from disk, press key, loads ramdisk file... wait... then says restore disk image? Press OK, then says disk cannot be found. No matter if I wait a few moments or minutes, never sees the CD on that screen. Any advice? Also if they is a known persistent issue, how would I make a usb stick to flash and reinstall the stuff? If you need more details, lemme know, as I have to ask my roomy. ( I went with a powerpro, so I never have issues :p)
