How hard is it to upgrade the memory? I know there's a port so it should be easy. What's the most amount of RAM the Asus EEE 1005HA N280 Version can take? like 2 or 4 GBs? BTW if anyone has upgraded successfully can you tell me what kind of RAM you used ? THNX!

The chipset used in the 1005HA is the 945GSE which limits the max amount of ram to 2GB @ 667MHz.

Upgrading the ram on the 1005HA is relatively painless. Remove the ram access panel on the back of the netbook and replace the ram.

    Any of THESE 2GB DDR2 200pin So-Dimm 677MHz ram modules will work.

Pleas try with the mechanical instructions.

    1. turn off the netbok and removet he battery
    2. put it upside down on a nonscratch survace and best if you ground yourself
    3. use a small phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw and pull off the memory cover. It does make a couple of clicks.
    4. using a small screwdriver, push the two side brackets holding the memory in a direction away form the memory chip, one after the other. The memory chip will pop up to about 45 degrees
    5. gently removet the old chip and replace it with the new one. Line up the groove on the chip and insert it at the same angle you take the old one out.
    6. gently push down on the chep from both sides so as to bring it flat on the motherboard. It will firmly click in place on both sides.
    7. put back the memory cover and the battery and reboot,
