Looks pretty good. Understood all the Cantonese =P

Wish we could get a solid price point on them..
and I need to know if they are still available in pink. I really am serious. -

I didnt know they upgraded the EEE, the 700 series didnt intrested me at all with the small HDD and small screen. This 900 series tho looks very promising but the upgrades probably put it out of my price range for what I think its worth.

You'll be surprise that its worth $499 and its coming out in the US this month. -
StarScream4Ever, your name rocks!
For $499 I can get a Dell Vostor 1500 with a Core 2 Duo and 2GB of RAM, but on the other hand the gimmick value is well beyond $500 for the EeePC 900. Then again, I wanna wait for benches for the newer ULV CPU (some early ones really did not impress me), the Celeron 900 is bearable (thank god for the SSD high seek time) any slower might become unbearable. -

Thank you, thank you.
Sure the 900 series is priced near the mainstream notebooks and it pack the weakly Celeron processor, but on the other hand, you got a workable Windows XP that runs most application quite well. Perfect for college students to take to class for note taking without causing distraction.

Well previous EEE owners say its honestly not good for note taking, because the keyboard is too small to type effectively. Im sure given good time you can adapt to it, but for the note taking reasons I think a cheap 14" or 13/15" depending on preference is still the way to go.
The EEE to me would be like.... my cooler ipod... Take it around when I do things so listen to music, watch some videos and be able to web surf at the same time. It would be something to bring to dinner to kill time while waiting for food or seating, things like that. For everything else there is mastercard er I mean my C90S for the big boy tasks and my cell phone for just music and stuff. -
Keyboard is surprisingly easy to get use to, only problems I have touchtyping is the backspace key.
-
Anyone else find it a bit too pricey?
-

@ $499? Its a big leap from the original $399, but its due to its larger screen, and the two-finger trackpad. -
Heh...that's the entire point of a UMPC (I'm using this term liberally), its to be where regular notebooks can't go. Need a small, portable, long lasting battery, etc laptop that'll fit even on the tinniest of desks? The Asus EEE, or HP MiniNote, etc just calls out for you. Lugging around a 15.4" laptop is a pain in the ass (IMO since I own a Asus G1s haha), especially for in-class environments and small desk spaces. I for one, look forward to contemplating buying one of these.

I soooo agree. In a lecture, it is really fun to pull out that little trapezoid desk and put your 15.4" widescreen on it, LOL. I can barely fit my fricken elbows within those theater seats. I have heard some good things about it - plus, it shall be my emulation station - the ultimate old-school game console. I think this thing is perfect for coach flying as well - I love how I can open up my 15.4" standard at an easily viewable 55 degree angle. Long live the innovation of the Eee PC - at least someone is thinking I have to carry their product around with me! -

Barely 2 hour battery life? Guess I'm waiting for the Atom then.
-
Great reviews, unfortunately it does sound like the Atom is the one to spring for.
I'm impressed with the decision to charge equal price for the 12 and 20 gig models, offsetting the cost by a paid or free OS. -
StarScream4Ever Notebook Consultant
Nope its a fully-clocked Celeron processor. Despite that, I'm definitely getting this lil beaut.
-
Anybody knows the real price difference between 900 and 701?
-
StarScream4Ever Notebook Consultant
701= $399 900= $499
-
If that's the case I guess I'll wait for the 900 version..
